The Unbreakable Code of Life
Religion vs science vs philosophy vs psychology vs spirituality vs astronomy vs evolution vs mythology... etc.
Who is right and who is wrong? What is real and what is not? Humans don't know much about this world. We know a lot more than a couple hundred years ago, but we still have nothing figured out! I do not think that either one of these 'classes' or ideologies or beliefs on their own can give us the right answers. Maybe by taking all the best ideas and facts from each one of them and putting them together, we might come up with some more interesting ideas that can lead us closer to some real answers.
One thing is for sure, you have to make a choice:
You can decide to challenge your thinking, ideas & beliefs to become wiser, to have a bigger perspective on life and this world, to be more aware of what is happening right now, to search for the truth, to start speaking the truth and to be part of the discussions to solve problems.
You can decide to be ignorant and stick to your old ways of thinking and your old beliefs and carry on living your life the way you always have. As long as you stand up for your belief and speak the truth. Hopefully you can adapt to this world that is constantly changing; and it is changing faster than ever before.
We live in very interesting times. There are so many new ideas about how we should or shouldn't live our lives and about what rights we should or shouldn't have. With the technology and internet we have today, we have access to so much knowledge and information. I can easily connect with someone on the other side of the world that has a similar perspective on things as me or who challenges my thinking and from whom I can learn something new. Maybe the best part of the internet is that you can get university-level information from professors who are willing to share their knowledge with the world.
Of course there is a lot of nonsens that we have to be able to point out and ignore! Don't for one second think everything you find on the internet is true or real. You have to use some common sense and do some research before you believe anything you watch or read. Some of the ideas people have and the way they act these days seem totally insane! Let's look at free speech for example. There is one group of people who believe they have the right to say anything they want, but if you have a different opinion they want to accuse you of hate speech. Where is the equality in free speech in that? Then there is trolling. Where do you draw the line of what is acceptable or not? Can you tell the difference? I am sure you can easily come up with a few of your own examples here of how things are just so out of balance and bizarre!
There are some highly intelligent, hard working people who share their knowledge with the world and who are trying to bring a positive change and those are the people we have to pay attention to. Being open to new ideas and discussions about these new ideas doesn't mean you just throw all the rules out of the window. It means being open to listen to another person's perspective and maybe learning something new and then possibly come up with a better solution to a current situation or challenge.
I believe that there is no difference between imagination and reality. Your reality is based on what you believe to be real. What you believe to be real is not the same for any other person. Let me give a simple example. If you take two persons and prick each one with the same size needle on the finger, the one person might think it is nothing and walk away, but the other person might cry out "Ouch! It hurts!". The action is the same for both persons, but the reality for each person is experienced differently and so also their reaction to it. This difference in the experience of the reality is affected by a variety of factors such as biological, physiological and mental factors. Rather than constantly judging each other, we should try to listen more and accept that we can experience things differently. Simply trying to force your ideas and beliefs on someone is not a solution. We can see the devastating evidence all over the world.
That said, I also believe there must be certain rules in place otherwise there will just be complete chaos in and around us. There are certain things you have to do that is necessary to be healthier and happier. Love your neighbour; don't be a greedy, corrupt liar. If your house is constantly in a mess, the constant chaos will wear you down. If you do not eat right and never exercise you will become unhealthy and be more likely to develop a serious illness. If you don't make an effort to educate yourself you cannot grow. If you want to achieve something you must set goals and work for it. You cannot say that everybody has freedom of speech, but when someone has a different opinion accuse them of hate speech! Freedom of speech either applies to everybody or nobody! The key is finding the balance between chaos and order. A certain amount of chaos is necessary, momentarily, to discover something new; to be creative. Order is necessary to put those new ideas in place, to use those creative ideas in a productive way. We cannot ignore the yin and yang concept in life.
The reality of this world is that life is never as simple or straight forward as black and white and of course there are extremes to every kind of situation or personality. Humans are very complex creatures and I will say it again, we know very little about this world and the universe and life! We have to understand that every single human being is capable of the same level of good and evil. Hitler was not an alien from another planet. He was a human being like you and me. What he imagined to be real and true was completely different from most other people. Instead of just condoning it, we should examen it to learn from it as with everything else in life. Also, instead of just believing anything you read or watch, investigate it. Don't be fooled by fools! It amazes me how easily people can be manipulated into believing anything. What shocks me more is for example how people think it is OK to make fake videos of terror attacks and make people believe it is real. These are the kinds of issues people have to start talking about. Being able to freely discuss these real issues in life is probably one of the biggest privileges we have and we should use it wisely and maturely.
Will humans ever discover truth and "break this code of life"? I think as long as humans exist the search will continue.
Over the last couple of years I have truly been on an interesting journey and as Jordan Peterson would say, I have been sorting myself out. I feel like with every small step I take I come across more and more like-minded people and I know that I am slowly but surely making progress in growing as a person. For the first time I feel truly inspired or hopeful. I am grateful for the internet that can connect me with people who inspire me and I'm grateful for those people who are willing to share their knowledge to inspire other people. People who are willing to start conversations about the real issues of this world, who are trying to motivate people to learn to think for themselves, people who stand up for the truth and share it with the world and people who simply share their own experience in an honest way. We have to pay attention to the right kind of people. We cannot just blindly follow along with the wolf in a sheep's skin. We have to educate ourselves. Search for the truth and speak the truth.
