The Universe, Humanity and Water - Reality Check
The Universe holds so many secrets. Where does it begin and where does it end. Will humanity ever really know or understand it completely? I often think about how small our Mother Earth is in comparison to what scientists have discovered is out there. Yet humanity seems to be under threat by our own doing. Global populations keep growing and global warming cannot be reversed. The future seems so uncertain - more than ever before, if that is even possible. Does this mean we should just give up?
Definitely not. We have to carry on to do our best every day to build a better future. Even if it seems useless, there are a lot of things we can still do and we should encourage each other to do so. I believe that water and recycling are the gold of the future. I have read and seen so many inspiring stories of what a significant impact recycling can have on the environment. Repurposing old items around the house is a popular topic these days and I want to encourage everyone to find your inner creative child and make something new from something old! As an example here I repurposed some old CD's and made coasters for the coffee table. First I chose a topic for each set of 4 coasters. I made some designs on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for each set according to the topic, which I then printed onto CD Label stickers. I glued rubber on the bottom to give it more weight and thickness and to prevent it from slipping on smooth surfaces. I put clear adhesive over the top for some waterproofing and for a smoother, glossy look. So, instead of letting your old CD's end up on landfills, why not repurpose them.

The issue of conserving water is more complex. Governments will have to come up with solid systems and solutions to ensure we do not run out of clean water. It seems all the money in the world ends up in the wrong hands, in the wrong places. It is the work of society though to vote for the best candidates to make the best decisions for the people. I will not go into politics here. That is a separate topic for another time and another place. That said, I have to add that it is not just up to governments to save the world. Every individual on this planet, me and you, are responsible to do our best to take care of our environment. We have to use and save water wisely and we have to recycle efficiently. Will this change everything over night? No. Will this unlock all the answers to the secrets of the Universe? I very much doubt it. What I do believe is that your intentions and actions will influence your future, so make sure it is positive.
